Mastering Suno Stems: After Advanced Split, Do This
Suno upgraded its stem separation: Advanced Split isolates close to a
hundred instruments, "Split from Mix" pulls any voice or instrument out of a
finished mix, and the classic Auto Split still gives you 12 stems. The stems
got noticeably cleaner — and thousands of creators suddenly have material they
can work with properly. One question remains: how do you turn a folder of
stems into a release-ready track?
Why stems ≠ a finished track
Separated stems are not a studio multitrack. Even clean Advanced Split output
carries two systemic issues:
- Separation artifacts. The neural net slices the spectrum, leaving
"musical noise" at instrument boundaries: isolated time-frequency spikes,
metallic ringing on cymbal tails, watery reverb smearing. Barely audible per
stem — mud in the sum. - Drifted balance. The sum of stems does not equal the original mix: every
stem comes back at its own level, so naive summing changes both the tonal
balance and the loudness.
From Suno stems to a release
- Download the stems from Suno (Advanced Split needs Premier; Auto Split
is available more widely). - Upload them to stem mastering in Magic Master — up to 8 tracks:
vocals, drums, bass, music. Set relative gains if you want a different
balance (a couple of dB more vocal, for instance). - Separation artifact cleanup is on by default for stems: it removes
isolated separation spikes after the gate without touching the music. It is
the same technology as our AI-trace cleanup, tuned for the "musical noise"
of Spleeter/Demucs/Suno. - Pick a preset and a target. From there it is regular mastering: a LUFS
target per platform, True Peak ≤ −1 dBTP, honest A/B and metrics in the
result.
What you get
One release-grade file: your stems summed with your balance, artifacts cleaned,
loudness matched to the platform of your choice — Spotify to VK Music. Download
as WAV, MP3 or FLAC — switchable after mastering.
FAQ
How many stems can I upload? Up to 8 per master, 800 MB total.
Does it cost more? Stem mastering is 1 token — same as a regular PRO
master.
What if my stems are not from Suno? Any stems work: Udio, your DAW, or
separators like Demucs. Cleanup can be switched off for studio stems.
Start in the app — switch to stem mastering mode and drop your tracks.
