Split a song into instruments online — stems: vocals, bass, drums
Upload a track and get four WAVs: vocals, drums, bass and everything else. The Demucs neural network splits the song into instruments on the server, no DAW or plugins: processing takes about 4× the track length.
Free vocal remover — backing track online
Upload a song and get the backing track and the vocals separately, in good quality. No sign-up; a free account gives you more, including 4 stems.
Limits: songs up to 7 minutes; processing takes about 4× the track length — you can keep the tab open. The file is deleted after 24 hours.
How it works
- Upload your track — WAV, FLAC or MP3 up to 200 MB in the app.
- Press 'Split into stems' — a card in the PRO modules block. Processing takes about 4× the track length (a 4-minute song takes about 17 minutes); the screen shows the time left, and the finished archive stays in your profile for 24 hours even if you close the tab.
- Download the zip — four WAVs: vocals, drums, bass, other. The archive is kept for 24 hours.
- Free within the daily limit: backing track — no sign-in, 4 stems — after signing in. Beyond the limit, 1 token, only on success.
Two modes to choose from
- All tracks — vocals, drums, bass and other: four WAV files for mixing and remixing.
- Vocals and instrumental — the voice on its own, the backing track on its own. One run gives you both: an a cappella and a karaoke-ready instrumental.
What stems are used for
- Instrumental / acapella — remove vocals for covers and karaoke, or keep only the voice.
- Remixes and mashups — kick and bass separate from the harmony.
- Learning parts — hear the bass line or drums without the rest of the mix.
- Stem mastering — per-track processing: we also offer stem mastering.
Questions and answers
How do I split a track into stems online?
Upload the track in the app and press 'Split into stems' — the Demucs neural network splits it into four tracks: vocals, drums, bass and the remaining instruments. Processing takes about 4× the track length (a 4-minute song takes about 17 minutes); the finished zip with four WAVs stays in your profile for 24 hours.
Which stems is a track split into?
Into four stems: vocals, drums, bass and the remaining instruments. Each one downloads as its own WAV file. Separation is done by the Demucs model — the same one used in professional tools.
Do I need software or a plugin?
No. Separation runs online: you upload the file in your browser and get the finished tracks back. No DAW, plugins or installation needed — you can A/B the result right on the page.
Can I extract clean vocals from a song?
Yes, the vocal track comes as a separate file. Quality depends on the source: on a dense mix with heavily processed vocals you may hear separation artefacts — that is a limit of any algorithm, not of this service in particular.
How much does stem separation cost?
Free: the vocal remover (vocals + backing track) works twice a day with no sign-up, and a free account gets 3 separations a day, including 4 stems. Beyond the limit it is 1 token per track, charged only for a successful separation.
Can I split a song into instruments online?
Yes — that's exactly what stem separation does: the song is split into instrument tracks. Vocals, drums and bass each get their own WAV, while guitars, keys and synths go into the "other instruments" track. A 4-minute song takes about 17 minutes, then you download the instruments as separate files.
Can I remove a voice tag from a beat?
Yes, if the tag is a voice layered over the beat: the "Vocals & instrumental" mode removes the voice tag along with any other vocals, leaving a clean instrumental. Honest limit: if the tag is baked into the instrumental itself (mixed with the melody on one track at creation), the algorithm can only take out the voice part.
How do I split a Suno track into stems?
Download your track from Suno in the best quality and upload it on this page — Demucs splits it into vocals, drums, bass and the rest, like Advanced Split but without a Suno Premier subscription. You can then master the stems separately and clean up generation artifacts.
